Post Digital Cultures, 4-5.12.2015, Lausanne Symposium presented by the Federal Office of Culture (FOC), Switzerland and Les Urbaines. Rózsa Farkas speaks about why print has prevailed within a publishing model that has incorporated online publishing, ebooks and printed publications. Specifically she will explore the Artist Novella series set up by Arcadia Missa, and discuss this methodology for working with artists, and how the language of the internet has slipped into the printed pages of the Novella - asking, does a language after the internet need to be contained online? Following from this question, Farkas takes as a starting point the explosion of the use of the first person, linking the culture from within which we currently self-publish to the remodeling of exhibited subjectivity. Has 'the subjective' become just style? And does that even matter? When does this style seep into the personal relationships we hold between one another, and govern increasingly via text?
