Improvisation (2021) for organ solo by Gašper Jereb is built on an introductory theme defined primarily by rhythmic complexity rather than melodic development. This rhythmic material shapes the character of the piece and serves as its structural foundation. In the middle section, new sound material emerges. Through a gradual and imaginative interaction with motifs from the opening theme, the musical tension increases and leads toward a virtuosic concluding section, where rhythmic drive and textural density reach their peak. The piece is conceived as a concert work for advanced organists, combining structural clarity with freedom of gesture and sound exploration.
