The Kunduz Valley has been a hotspot of insurgent activity ever since British forces entered the area. Multiple bases and numerous patrols have done little to quell the resistance. The people are growing more and more discontent with foreign invaders in their valley and the never ending fighting ripping apart their homes. Recent Events: A recent attack on Mike 2 where numerous ISAF casualties were taken and communication lost has demonstrated that the towns in the villages nearest our bases are no longer friendly and seem to host Taliban insurgents ready to attack our forces at a moments notice. Command has authorised a massive show of force in the area to demonstrate our superiority to the insurgent forces and secure the surrounding area. This will involve patrolling a route through the nearby villages to clean them out and help secure the area around our bases a little better. Taliban forces are well armed and ready for a fight with multiple reports of vehicles bringing in more fighters to the area. There have also been reports of heavy weapons platforms such as ZSU's and Strela's captured from the ANA being deployed by the Taliban in the area as well as some more armored vehicles captured from the ANA. They seem to be ready to take back their valley with massive force. There have also been numerous reports of car bombs as well as IED's being planted in the area. These are a new type of IED which we haven't managed to work out yet, therefore it is not suggested to try disarm any IED's that are come across. ROE is the same as throughout Afghanistan. May not fire on unless fired upon. Weapons, aside from AA and heavy emplacements, do not make someone a target as many civilians use them for self-defence. Objectives: Primary Objective: 1. Clear out insurgent presence Lolosalam. 2. Clear out insurgent presence Mandingara. 3. Investigate the situation and provide aid to Mike-2. Secondary Objective: 1. Investigate reports of a weapons cache in Kenykmheni and destroy it if found. Situation OPFOR: Taliban Forces, irregular militia Weapons: AK's, PKM's, FAL's, Lee Enfield, 9K32 Strela-2 Uniform: Light military clothing and camo, Civilian clothing. Vehicles: ANA armored vehicles, armed pickups, AA guns mounted on trucks, civilian vehicles.
