This is The 11/19/1988 USC at UCLA game. UCLA had risen to #1 in the nation after 7 weeks only to be upset by Washington State. USC was undefeated coming in and was #2 Nationally. The Bruins had fallen to #6. It was the 20'th time in the history of the rivalry that the winner would advance to The Rose Bowl. It matched the nations 2 best quarterbacks in Rodney Peete of USC and Troy Aikman of UCLA. Peete had suffered from a case of The measles all week and there was some worry that he might not play but he did and played an excellent game outdueling Aikman and leading SC to The Rose Bowl. It also set up a 1 vs 2 showdown between USC and ND the next week. I claim no rights.
