In this video, we will be sharing the personal stories of transgender individuals from around the Asia Pacific region. They will be sharing their experiences and explaining why access to gender-affirming healthcare is crucial for their health and well-being. We will hear from individuals who have faced challenges and discrimination in their healthcare journeys, and how access to gender-affirming healthcare has positively impacted their lives. They will share their perspectives on the importance of healthcare professionals being knowledgeable and supportive, and how a rights-based approach to healthcare can empower trans people to know and claim their rights. Through these stories, we hope to raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by transgender individuals in the Asia Pacific region and highlight the importance of creating culturally sensitive and thoughtful healthcare resources, such as APTN's Towards Transformative Healthcare (TTHM) Module.
