This week marks the 18th anniversary of our Founder Gary Sinise's first USO Tour in Iraq. Starting on June 15, 2003, Gary departed from LAX for the first-large scale USO tour in support of service members deployed to combat zones: Operation Project Salute. During this momentous trip, Gary spent time with the troops at Camp Udari, Camp Doha, Camp Sayliyah, and USO Meet & Greets in Baghdad. While this was the first of Gary's countless USO tours overseas and across the country, it was a landmark moment in Gary's journey from self to service, which manifested into the creation of the Gary Sinise Foundation.
