Application process for One Lexington grants opens. Community partners working with youth and young adults ages 10 – 29 to prevent or address gun violence are invited to apply for grants of up to $10,000. Funding for the grants, which last year totaled $150,000, will not be finalized until they are approved by the Urban County Council as part of the 2026 – 2027 budget. A final vote on the budget is scheduled for June 9. This is the fifth year for the grant program. Last year, 18 nonprofit organizations received funding. “These community partners join One Lexington on the front lines in the fight to make Lexington a safer place by keeping our young people, ages 10 to 29, away from gun violence,” said Devine Carama, director of One Lexington. The city will continue to accept applications until 5 p.m. Thursday, March 19. Applications are available online:(https://communityactioncouncil.formst.... To be eligible, organizations must either have 501(c)(3) status or apply through a fiscal sponsor or larger organization that has a 501(c)(3) designation.
