NEAT (the Nebraska Easement Action Team) hosted a series of meetings for impacted landowners and communities on proposed carbon pipeline routes in Nebraska. Pipeline expert Paul Blackburn gives an overview of this unproven “carbon capture” technology, and the unsound economics and safety and health risks from these proposed carbon pipelines. And attorney Brian Jorde with Omaha’s Domina Law Group presents on landowners’ rights with respect to eminent domain, and the advantages of forming a legal “co-op” with other landowners who oppose their land being taken by eminent domain for these projects. Bold also plans to host additional "public meetings" in the potentially impacted communities, as there is currently NO state permit required by carbon pipeline companies, and thus no public hearing process like there is currently in Iowa, or like there was in Nebraska for Keystone XL at the Public Service Commission.
