Teenage killer who ‘HUNTED’ Leo Ross, 12, in random attack detained for at least 13 years

A teenager has been jailed for a minimum of 13 years for the murder of 12-year-old Leo Ross as he walked home from school. In a random attack, the 15-year-old boy stabbed Leo in the stomach before loitering around the scene to "derive maximum enjoyment" from his actions. Leo died after being taken to hospital from a riverside path in Shire Country Park, Hall Green, Birmingham, on January 21 last year. His killer, who was 14 at the time, admitted Leo's murder at a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court in January. The teenage defendant also injured three women in separate attacks in the days prior to murdering Leo. This included an attempt to drown an 82-year-old woman, and attacks on two other elderly women.
