The sixth season of STARGATE SG-1 was pivotal for the long-running sci-fi series. The show made the jump from pay-cable channel Showtime to SCI FI, giving it a bigger audience. It introduced things like Earth's space ships and tretonin to the mythology. But at the same time cast member Michael Shanks ("Daniel Jackson") left the show, replaced by Corin Nemec as Jonas Quinn. And SG-1's leading man, Richard Dean Anderson, now had a reduced filming schedule – requiring his character Jack O'Neill to be written out of some episodes. Now SG-1 writer and executive producer Joseph Mallozzi is back on "Dial the Gate" for another conversation, this month moving into Season 6.
