Cryptorchidism means hidden testes. That was the case with Leonard's Percheron Stallion, Prince. Prince's Sire was also a Cryptorchid, and the condition was passed on to Prince. Leonard's plan to make Prince a gelding then became much more difficult when Leonard made the discovery that Prince had one undescended testicle. Though it is one of the most common surgeries in horses, Leonard had to take Prince to Stillwater Equine Veterinary Clinic to have the procedure done as his current vet does not do it. It was an overnight stay for Prince at the vet, but his surgery went smoothly and he was ready to come home the next day. Dr. Terry Arnesen was kind enough to give a quick rundown of the surgery and recovery time. Prince was still feeling pretty studly at the clinic but was back to his old self as soon as we got home. Leonard gave the total cost of the surgery for those wondering as well as showing where Prince will be spending his time during his recovery.
