A massively underrated Gruul commander that flew under the radar on release but offers one of the most synergistic and satisfying tribal play patterns in the format. Slinza leads one of the only true Beast tribal decks in EDH, and unlike most tribal strategies in this color pair, this one doesn’t just curve out and hope to win. It ramps hard, removes threats efficiently, and snowballs fast thanks to Slinza’s built-in cost reduction, +1/+1 counters, and fight-based removal. Yes, removal in Gruul, and it’s not a gimmick. This deck takes full advantage of that unique interaction. Every creature with 4+ power, which is nearly all of them, turns into a potential removal spell. And because Slinza can fight when any such creature enters, including your opponents’, she gives you repeatable, flexible, targeted removal in a color combo that’s usually all gas, no brakes. In this deck tech, I’ll walk through the full list broken into clear categories: → Beasts that fuel the tribal synergy and trigger fights → Acceleration to get Slinza online early → Support cards for card draw, buffs, and board scaling → Interaction and protection to keep your threats alive → Lands, fixing, and a few spicy tech lands → And finally, an upgrade section for taking the list even further Whether you’re looking for a new budget EDH deck, a Beast tribal list that actually works, or just a Gruul commander with more depth than “cast big creatures and swing,” this is one you’ll want to try. 🕒 Timestamps 00:00 – Commander Breakdown 02:58 – The Beasts 27:39 – Acceleration 32:27 – Support & Draw 41:12 – Interaction & Protection 45:33 – Lands 49:10 – Upgrades If you like this type of content, hit the subscribe button so you don't miss a single video 🔔 #MTG #EDH #DeckTech #MagicTheGathering #mtgcommander
