A while back I made a video on how to get THIS veteran ID card super easily. Turns out, that thing is complete trash and I have no IDEA why it exists. I thought it would get me on base - BUT because there is no barcode to scan, it does no such thing. It IS good for getting a veteran discount at places, but that’s about it. This is the REAL VA ID you want to get - the Veteran Health Identification Card This card is good for: -Base access -Discounts -VA healthcare -MAYBE get you out of a speeding ticket If you want to follow along click the link here: https://www.va.gov/health-care/get-he... FIRST, you’ll need a few things before we get started: You need to already be enrolled in VA healthcare -You need a login for access.va (I use ID.me, but there are several options to choose from) -Government ID for verification - this can be a drivers license, passport, or another form of gov ID - MAKE SURE THE ADDRESS ON YOUR ID MATCHES THE ONE THE VA HAS ON FILE -A current COLOR photo of yourself - think passport photo, not instagram profile picture Click the “Go to AccessVA to request your VHIC online” link Pick your login tool - I use ID.me Login Follow the steps of uploading your photo, ID and information and click submit Once you’ve successfully applied and gotten your card once, it’ll stay in the system and you can always log back in to get a replacement card super easily.
