The Budapest Cafe Orchestra performing "Fear a' Bhàta" (The Boatman) in Braemar, Scotland, during their tour of the UK in September 2021. The tune is a Scots Gaelic song from the late 18th century, written by Sìne NicFhionnlaigh (Jean Finlayson) of Tong who was courting a young fisherman from Uig, Dòmhnall MacRath. The group are a talented four piece band, playing gypsy & folk-flavoured music from all around the world. The band members are Christian 'Balkan Bob' Garrick on violin and darabuka, Eddie 'The Dragon' Hession on button accordion, Kelly 'Kelvin the Klaw' Cantlon on double bass and big daddy violin, plus Adrian 'The Sultan' Zolotuhin on saz, guitar, balalaika and domra. You can see more from them on their channel here: / racinghairtrick The Budapest Cafe Orchestra perform traditional Balkan, Russian, Hungarian and Romanian traditional gypsy and folk music, played with jazz nuances and their own unique arrangements. They have a special bond with Scotland, having now performed some 200 shows across the Highlands and Islands, touring extensively each year there since 2011, and have their own Scottish influenced 2014 album 'The Gaelic Chronicles'.
