This was inspired by the recent discussion and reopened debate about signal-to-noise ratio and levelling your inputs. We try to find out. Timestamps added so you can move around. In this video, the guitars I use: Charvel Pro Mod DK24 (stock pickups) Les Paul with Fishman Fluence Moderns Epiphone with P90 pickups Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 2:00 Default input level 4:23 Experimenting with reducing the input level 7:30 Chains add noise 10:12 Different guitars 14:58 There's no right or wrong way 16:00 Should you touch the input level? 16:29 P90 pickups 18:50 All pickups are different 20:20 Clean preset testing 21:58 Using 0db is fine sometimes 24:45 Other variables are more important 25:38 More headroom than you think 26:10 Summary
