Sassy Drunk Girl Blows Through a Red Light and Gets Arrested for DUI

Around 12:44 AM on February 26, 2025, Officer Doug Bailey with the Tampa Police Department observed a black 2019 Honda running a red light. He activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, and the driver pulled over in the vicinity of W North B Street and and N Howard Avenue. He exited his patrol car and made contact with the driver, who was identified as 25-year-old Kianna Marie Perez. As he was speaking with her, he observed indicators of impairment and detected the odor of alcohol. She told the officer that she had been at Rocco’s Tacos earlier that evening. She admitted to consuming some alcohol earlier that evening. Based on his suspicion of impairment, Kianna was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises. Officer Bailey started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, where he observed 6/6 indicators of impairment. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During the Walk and Turn test, Kianna failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step and turned improperly. The final exercise was the One Leg Stand test. During the One Leg Stand test, Kianna failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and did not count in the correct sequence. Based on her traffic infraction, her indicators of impairment, her admission to consuming alcohol, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, Kianna was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Around the time she was being placed under arrest, her girlfriend arrived on scene. After being placed inside the police car, Kianna was transported by Officer Bailey to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for further processing. At the jail, she agreed to submit to a breath test. Her breath test results indicated BAC levels of 0.130 and 0.122, which were both over the legal limit of 0.08.
