(25 May 2017) Manchester attack survivor Millie Robson considers herself lucky. Wearing an Ariana Grande T-shirt, she recounted from her hospital bed, in a calm voice, the night the explosion went off in the Manchester Arena as she was leaving the venue to meet her father. Her father David came to pick Millie and her friend up at the end of the concert and waited at the exit of the arena when the bomb exploded. The ffifteen year old suffered injuries to her legs, face and arm. "I just remember the explosion and my ears started ringing for ages, and people screaming," Millie said. Her father David, described the scene immediately after the blast went off as a "carnage." He and his partner carried Millie and her friend to safety and tied a jumper around Millie's legs to stem the bleeding. Millie's mother said her daughter was concerned for the safety of Ariana Grande, whom she had met earlier in the evening and urged people to go and help others, with more severe injuries. On Thursday, Millie met and shared words with the royal visitor, Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, who paid a visit to Manchester Royal Infirmary where she talked to some of the injured in Monday night's attack. "She is lovely. It's like mind-blowing, really. I just couldn't really expect it," Millie said. 22 people died in the blast and scores were injured.
