In this video I show y'all how to make a delicious any-time meal of Salisbury steak and noodles with gravy. This all-time favorite dish of mine is simple and easy to make, coming together in less than 30 minutes. Servings: 2 Shopping List: 1/2 lb. ground chuck beef 80/20 1 egg 2 tbsp. bread crumbs Splash Worcestershire 1 tsp. of yellow mustard 1 tsp. ketchup Kitchen Bouquet Browning Sauce Salt and pepper to taste 1 tbsp. Canola oil 1 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. all purpose flour About 1 cup evaporated milk, or whole milk 1/4 sweet onion, slice thin 3 cups egg noodles 1 tbsp. kosher salt for the pasta water (use 1/2 that much if using table salt) Directions: Boil the noodles per package instructions, adding the 1 tbsp. salt when the water starts to boil. When done, drain and set aside. In a bowl, add the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire, mustard and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix to combine, but don't over mix to avoid steak being tough. Form into (2) 3-4 oz. patties. In a skillet, heat a little oil over medium high heat. Add the beef patties and brown about 3-4 minutes each side. Remove from skillet and set aside. The patties are not fully done yet. Remove all but about 2 tbsps. of the oil from the skillet. Saute the onions until soft, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside. Then add a pat of butter over medium heat. When the butter has melted, add the flour. Stirring constantly until the flour and oil/butter forms a paste (roux) and the flour taste has cooked out. Gradually add the evaporated milk while constantly stirring. Add the browning sauce and salt and pepper to taste. Return the partially cooked steak and the onions to the gravy, making sure it's mostly covered with the gravy. Cover the skillet and simmer about 15 minutes until the steak is done and the gravy has thickened. Serve over the egg noodles and enjoy!
