The Piggyback Technique (Double wire technique) The Piggyback is a unique technique where one rigid wire takes care of the arch form and a more flexible wire-like NiTi is used to get the individual tooth into the main arch form sequentially. It saves time and reduces the number of visits to the clinic. Extrusion of Impacted canines, alignment of displacement of lateral and premolars that are lingually/palatally erupted are common cases that need more and more visits but this technique makes the timeline shorter and allows you to control more of the vertical and horizontal anchorage.
