Manchester Metrolink - South Manchester line

A brief look at the South Manchester line of the Manchester Metrolink tram system taken on the afternoon of Tuesday 31st December 2013. This section was opened in two parts and runs along the trackbed of the old Midland Railway which connected Buxton to Manchester Central. The section to St Werburgh's Road from Manchester opened on 7th July 2011 and to East Didsbury on 24th May 2013. The M500 vehicles can be seen in this video which starts off at Firswood station and follows the line through the south Manchester suburbs of Chorlton and Withington to the terminus at East Didsbury.
