You've probably heard of the WWII Army V Discs produced in the early and mid 1940s during the recording strike, but did you know there were also discs by the Navy and the US Marine Corps? The Navy and Marine discs were all previously released as Army Discs but with different catalog numbers and different color schemes. This Special Services US Marine Corps pressing of Major Glenn Miller And The Band Of The AAF Training Command performing the Army Air Corps Song on V Disc 264 was released in September of 1945 and was pressed by Columbia Records on shellac. I only mention that because so many of these were pressed on very thin vinyl.
