We use 70L buckets, which once is full, stay under the sun with a top cover for 1 year to make sure every living germ is completely dead. We're mixing our sawdust with biochar "to help with inoculation process, since the buckets are bigger we don't need to have urine separation ("I made a video about biochar with all you want to know, check it out on my channel") NOTE: We're not going to use it immediately from the buckets ❌️, it will stay in the pallet wood box for a while until it's ready to use in the garden. How long does humanure need to compost? Roughly saying, the feces need to compost somewhere between 4-6 months before it's safe enough to lay it on the compost pile outdoors. After this period, another 6 – 12 months is required for it to become safe enough to be used as a fertilizer.
