Join here me on my drive up across the Ranges here in New Zealand, leaving Paraparumu and on up H1 to Waikani. From there via Elizabeth Street on up to Akatarawa Road, through past Stag lands and down into Birchville just North of Wellington then back across though the little village of Pauatahanui. The ranges rise over 6500 feet and stretch along the backbone of New Zealand from Wellington and on up through the Manawatu. This particular road climbs over 800 meters or abt 2800 feet at the peak of the journey. Its a single track road with stunning scenery and lots of stopping places to view the surroundings and meet some of the wildlife and often unexpectedly lol. The road can be a rather hazardous road from the many blind corners from both on coming traffic and land slips making the road slippery, so it was necessary to keep the speed well down as I would hate to have to walk home lol...
