This is the second webinar organized by the Risk, Uncertainty, and Probabilistic Approaches Committee (RUPAC) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Prof. Günter Blöschl is Head of the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management, Director of the Centre for Water Resource Systems of the Vienna University of Technology as well as Chair of the Vienna Doctoral Programme on Water Resource Systems. He conducts high- profile research in hydrology. He has received numerous prestigious awards such as the Robert E. Horton Medal from the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the John Dalton Medal from the European Geophysical Union (EGU) and the International Hydrology Prize from the IAHS. He is a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the US National Academy of Engineering. From 2013-2015 he was the President of the European Geosciences Union. From 2017-2021 he is the President of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences.
