Clean water, healthy children, Bor's Big change

The Government of South Sudan, through the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI) and the South Sudan Urban Water Corporation (SSUWC), in partnership with UNICEF and supported by the Governments of the Netherlands and Korea via KOICA, launched the Bor Urban Water Supply System. This project supplies safe, clean, reliable, and affordable drinking water to over 96,000 residents of Bor town, Jonglei State. It represents a milestone in South Sudan’s journey toward sustainable, climate-resilient urban water systems and enhanced sanitation for vulnerable communities. The system features a new 4,800 m³/day water treatment plant, a water-quality laboratory, 28 kiosks, 53 km of pipelines, a tanker station, and a 750 m³ steel tank to serve the growing population.
