Adaptation from "One Day - Episode 7" For years, when Actors choose a monologue to deliver, I can guarantee you 99% of the time they will be from plays and/or theatre or musical theatre... For a long time, I found that there are not many monologues in TV and Film that are from an English-speaking female character of my playing age. When I trained in Screen Acting, this is when I struggled to find monologues to have on hand that reflected this, especially when we were asked to find one for our Accent class. And it took me ages to try and find a suitable, 'hefty' monologue that wasn't from older female characters, or a male character, or even Amercian... It was hard to find something I felt was suitable for my character type. Therefore, I took it upon myself that whenever I found a speech ina TV or Film that reflected this, I would save it for my own collection when needed. I found this important for me, especially because I recently got asked by an Agent to perform 2 monologues, one Drama, one Comedy - And having studied Screen Acting and Production for 3 years during my training, we didn't do monologues, I had no monologues on hand to learn for this! And I didn't want to just choose a random one I found online, that had more than likely been overworked for years, and also from a play that I hadn't even read. I am a Screen Actor, I want to work and perform for Screen and have monologues on hand that reflected that for my playing range. ___ In this scene, there was some in-between dialogue from Dexter, but his lines didn't take away from Emma's point and flow of dialogue. Therefore, it was simple to combine together her lines from this to create a monologue. One that is of a decent length and suitable for my playing age. And it worked. (In my opinion) And I like to think I am quick in putting together as a monologue, as One Day was only released this month. And I may be one of the first to take this and perform this...
