WORD OF THE DAY: Commissioned. TAKEAWAY: In today’s reading, the daughters of Zelophehad courageously approach Moses with a concern about their inheritance. God’s response is a beautiful reminder of His justice—He establishes a new law to protect their future. We also witness the transition of leadership: Moses, knowing his time is short, asks God to provide a shepherd for the people so they won't be lost. God chooses Joshua, a man "filled with the Spirit," and Moses publicly commissions him. Finally, we review the rhythmic cycle of offerings—reminding us that acknowledging God’s faithfulness is a daily, weekly, and seasonal calling.
