Known to be introverted, Gwendolyn Mary John painted and drew for her entire life, and is considered “one of the premier British artists of the Post-Impressionist era”, according to the National Museum of Women in the Arts. She was born in Wales, hence why she is the start of my “Welsh Art History Figures” series, but spent most of her life in France after attending college in Paris.
