4449 Helicopter Chase through the Simi Valley 1989

This video was taken by the LA news crew for KNBC Channel 4. They were documenting the 50th Anniversary of the LA Union Station in 1989. This video is the 1st of a group of videos that were taken of this event, I had previously posted the tail end video which was of both 4449 and 8444 (844) running up Cajon Pass side by side. The video starts somewhere near Oxnard on the SP Coast Line. The helicopter news crew follows it down the Simi Valley and through a series of tunnels in the Santa Susana Mountain, the longest of which is 7,369’ which was completed in 1904 as part of a 60 mile reduction on the Coast Line. I had acquired a copy of the original and unfortunately it is somewhat grainy when viewed on a large screen TV.
