High School Wrestling rules #7: Overtime

This is the 7th video in the series explaining high school wrestling rules. This video explains and gives examples Overtime procedures. OT is an extension of the regular match. All injury timeouts/injury time, blood time and recovery time count in OT as well. All penalties and points earned in regulation count in OT. One, 1 minute Sudden Victory period; First point scored wins. Two, 30 second Tie-Breaker periods of continuous wrestling, unless a fall or the match ends with a penalty. Flip disk decides choice of Up, Down or Defer... No neutral! One 30 second Ultimate Tiebreaker period. First point scored, wins. If no points are scored, the Top wrestler (offensive) wrestler gets 1 match point added to the total and is declared the winner. The wrestler that earns the first points in the match gets the choice of Up or Down**** See the Injury timeout check sheet & Overtime check sheet attached below. This video series is great way for parents/guardians to learn the rules of high school wrestling as well as beginners in to the sport as well.
