Spend a full day with us at the Chongqing Zoo (重庆动物园) — one of the most iconic and family-friendly attractions in the city! From the moment we spotted the futuristic ROCN Golden Twin Towers on our taxi ride over, we knew this would be a special adventure. In the first part of our visit, we meet the cutest residents of Chongqing — the giant pandas! Watch them enjoy breakfast, search for fruit, and play around in their playground. We also check out the cozy Panda Café, where you can grab a drink while observing pandas through giant glass windows. After all that cuteness, we take a break for lunch at a nearby local restaurant known for its Chongqing noodles (重庆小面) — we try the most popular flavor, 豌杂面, a spicy, savory bowl with yellow peas and minced meat. Back at the zoo, we enter the Elephant Garden, where we witness a massive Asian bull elephant cooling off with a refreshing mud and water shower. It’s both peaceful and fascinating to watch this majestic animal in action. We continue with a visit to see orangutans and energetic Jinsi monkeys leaping through their enclosure, adding more fun and excitement to the afternoon. Finally, we wrap up our visit with a walk past the stylish, zoo-themed Chongqing Metro station, reflecting on the day filled with nature, animals, and local flavors.
