David Wolfenden (Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The Mission, The Rose of Avalanche) Interview (5/24/25)

David Wolfenden is an English guitarist and songwriter probably most known for his time with the band Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. David began his musical journey with post punk band Expelaires in 1978. Expelaires would release a couple of singles in 1979 and 1980. Then David would join Red Lorry Yellow Lorry in the early 80’s. The band released 3 albums and several singles during the 80’s and have seen a revival recently. The band The Mission needed a lead guitarist for a few live tours during the 90’s and David’s guitar can be heard on a couple of live recordings from that period. And in 2022 my guest replaced a departing member in goth rock band The Rose of Avalanche. The band is still going strong and have been busy playing live shows ever since. And my guest and front man Chris Reed have reunited for the latest Red Lorry Yellow Lorry EP, Driving Black, released just last year. And David is still playing live and recording with The Rose of Avalanche.
