Alright punks, here we are. The final song. Under Her Watchful Eye (We Turn Our Backs) is a song about humanity's continuing war on nature. The lyrics personify Mother Earth and her storms as one of the few methods of defense our planet has left to deploy. It questions the need for constant expansion at the behest of capitalism. And it asks what we loose when we sacrifice our home for commodity and profit. Sonically, this song is a big love-letter to Anti-Product, one of, if not the most, influential band on Uprising's sound and ideals. The theme of the song is an homage to "War on Nature", the layered vocals is an homage to "Warfair?" and the opening, which was a big departure for us, was intended to build like the opening of "It Festers In Their Hearts". The name of the song is a reference to His Hero Is Gone's "Under Watchful Eyes". Note: Alix's absolutely incredible bass-work and Isaac & Tymm's beautiful melodic guitar work.
