Sasha Johnson: Archive video shows Black Lives Matter activist who has been 'shot in the head'

A leading Black Lives Matter activist was shot in the head on Sunday morning in what a friend has described as a rival gang clash at a house party. Police were called shortly before 3am to reports of gunshots in Consort Road, in Peckham, south London, where a young woman, named online as Sasha Johnson, was suffering from a gunshot injury. It is thought that Ms Johnson was in a garden when she was hit by a stray bullet intended for a gang member. Imarn Ayton, who met Sasha Johnson during the Black Lives Matter protests last year, said that from information she had been told: "There was a rival gang that may have heard about someone being in that party that they didn't feel quite comfortable with or trusted and so they resorted to driving past and shooting into the garden, and one of those shots obviously hit Sasha Johnson. "But I don't believe she was the intended victim." Ms Johnson, who remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries, is a BLM activist and mother-of-two. There have so far been no arrests in connection with the incident. Her organisation Taking the Initiative Party (TTIP) confirmed that she was the victim of the shooting, and said that she had previously been subject to "numerous death threats".
