Jonathan Hickman and Rod Reis return from their New Mutants stint to create Giant-Size X-Men: Fantomex, the fourth entry in the “Giant-Size” series, and the first issue to directly connect to what we learned about Storm back in Giant Size X-Men: Jean Grey and Emma Frost. Today I’ll Answer: Who is Fantomex and what’s his history with the X-Men? What’s the World and why does it matter for Hickman’s X-Men? How does Fantomex fit into Storm’s quest for a cure? Hickman, Reis, and letterer Ariana Maher structure this giant sized issue around Fantomex’s repeated journeys into The World throughout various decades, seeming to move from the 40’s Howling Commandos, and progressing around 10 years at a time until present day.
