Swami Tattvavidananda Saraswati | Advaita Vedanta Swami TV explains the experience of enlightenment and how a Jnani (liberated one) differs from others. *Initial Experience:* There is an immediate sense of gaining something unusual and a profound feeling of relief. Using the "serpent and rope" analogy, he explains that just as one feels relief when they realize a "serpent" was actually just a rope, enlightenment brings a sudden release from the fear and pain associated with egoic consciousness. *Normalization:* Over time, this state becomes the new normal. The Swami notes that once the "serpent" is gone, you don't continue to celebrate its absence; you simply feel natural and no longer experience anything "unusual" or euphoric. *The Nature of Ego:* He describes egoic consciousness as a "wound" that messes up the entire consciousness, leading to unhappiness and insecurity. Liberation is the dissolution of this ego into "egoless consciousness". *Outward vs. Inward Reality:* *Outwardly:* A Jnani and an Ajnani (unliberated person) look identical. Both feel hunger, get sick, and need an umbrella when it rains. *Inwardly:* They are entirely different. An Ajnani remains unhappy despite amassing wealth, while a Jnani remains happy and contented even without possessions. A Jnani is neither "poor" (because they give to others) nor "rich" (because they own nothing). The video concludes by comparing a Jnani to a "***night watchman***" who remains aware while others are involved in the world.
