Overhand and Underhand grasping of Persian Neyze (spear/lance) shaft: Textual evidence (part 2) In the following video, Bede (Razmafzar Australia) and I talk about different methods of grasping the shaft of an Iranian neyze (spear/shaft). In contrast to some false claims propagated in some reenactment circles, Iranian warriors used different methods of grasping the shaft of their neyze: 1) Two-handed underhand grasping, 2) Two-handed overhand grasping, 3) ane- handed underhand grasping, 4) one-handed overhand grasping, 5) shifting position, etc. The second part of this video is based on textual evidence of employed techniques from different Persian period books.
