There are about 5 different ways of rigging a crab claw! Shunting proa, tacking with stubmast, tacking without mast, tacking with A frame... and gybing with prop mast. I had read about the gybing configuration of the balianese jukung... but it took me doing a lot of heavy weather sailing on my pahi 31 to realize, that when the going is tough, you probably can't tack anyway. So maybe having a gybe only rig is okay? So we tried it on some beach cats! It actually worked really well! although you do loose a little ground in the gybe, but on the other hang it works really well compared to sometimes being difficult to persuade the catamaran to go through the eye of the wind Also see my playlist of jukung videos: • Jukung [collection] and my playlist of crabclaw catamaran videos: • catamaran crabclaw [collection]
