Adirondack Mountains - High Peaks Wilderness ADK 46er - Gothics, Armstrong, Upper Wolfjaw September 15th, 2019 TRIP STATS ---------- Total Mileage: 13.9 mi (13.3 + the misdirection) Total Elevation Gain: 4,767' Thus begins another quest of sorts with my first 3 ADK 46er climbs in the High Peaks Wilderness. Gothics, Armstrong, and Upper Wolfjaw. As I'm already working on the NE111 I had to climb these eventually and what better time to get started than early Fall. Not exactly in my backyard but a short 4 hour drive from my apartment, the Adirondacks is the place most of my early backpacking was done. It feels good to be back after over a year away. I actually started thinking about this trip when I was up in New Hampshire after talking to a woman on the trail about the High Peaks. Initially I wanted to head a bit north of Spruce Lake for my annual ADK trip but decided my thirst for climbing some big mountains wasn't quite satisfied.
