Welcome to Schony747 trams on Wednesday. If you enjoy the video, hit the like button & subscribe here for weekly updates on Schony747 - https://www.youtube.com/schony747?sub... Melbourne University is the terminating point for Swanston St trams here in Melbourne on the Yarra Trams network. Swanston St is the busiest tram street in the world. At Melbourne Uni, 6 tram services terminate and 2 routes continue through. There are three roads where terminating trams stable before returning to the suburbs so the areas can get very busy. How the stabling roads are allocated involves a complex set of signals and points or switches that guide trams into the correct road of tram shunt. It's all explained in this short video. There are lots of reading titles through the video but this is necessary to explain how it all works. It's an interesting video! Have a great week - Brenden S.
