Metamorphosis Medicine YouTube Video Challenge Day #13 of 33 Reimagining the Hospital A Blueprint

February 9, 2024. Yes, a second video on the same day to make up for missing February 8th. I decided to use this "time out of time" to travel back to a dream I had while still living in Alaska, almost 10 years before the launching point I've been describing in this video series. This dream was essentially a download of a reimagined hospital. A blueprint. I didn't ask for the dream--at least not consciously, and truthfully, it was a bit of a nuisance even though it also felt like a gift, a vision. What was I supposed to do with this? Should I ignore it? That wasn't really possible. This vision was part of a deep inner dialogue about how to understand and express the ways our experiences in medical encounters are yoked together and how the setting in which they occur can promote health or sickness. I'll say more about the built environment in the next video, but my question for viewers here is, What do we do with our dreams and desires? If they disrupt our ordinary plans and situation, do we push them away? Then where do they go? Do they disappear or kind of quietly eat away at us?
