Architect N. Mahesh is the Principal Architect and Proprietor of Iyer & Mahesh, a renowned architectural firm based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, founded in 1975. A first-rank holder from the 1972 B.Arch batch at CET, he has over four decades of professional experience and has completed more than a thousand projects across various sectors. His design philosophy focuses on sustainability, traditional materials, and contextual design, with a special emphasis on timber architecture—reviving and adapting Kerala’s vernacular building traditions to modern needs. Under his leadership, Iyer & Mahesh has created landmark projects, from institutional and hospitality buildings to private residences, earning several national and state-level awards for architectural excellence. Beyond practice, he also contributes to education as a founder and trustee of the College of Architecture Trivandrum (CAT), nurturing future generations of architects.
