A 2 day fishing trip on Mcphee Lake. The first day, I get caught in a thunder storm, forcing me to turn around. A clear example on how NOT to fish Mcphee Lake. The next trip to Mcphee goes much smoother, as perfect kayak conditions allow for a nice morning on the lake. Its a test of patience and determination, as the fish here don't come without a fight. Despite this, I manage to land 2 Pike, along with 4 other bites. The total time spent on the Water was only ~2 hours, which speaks to the quality fishing of this lake. Known for being located just outside of the Prince Albert National Park, as well as its kayak/canoe friendly size, Mcphee Lake is a favorite to some. The advantage of being outside of the PANP means that one doesn't need a National Park Fishing License, or have to follow the restrictions, imposed by the PANP. However, the walleye population has felt the pressure, and needs to be stocked regularly. Being outside the park also means that building around the lake is aloud, and a small community of cabins and trailer can be found around the West shore.
