This gas piston-operated rifle boasts a modular design with Picatinny rails for accessory attachment, providing customization for different missions. The MPT-76 entered serial production in 2015 after some initial tests going back to 2008. It was designed to replace the G3 issued at the time with a more accurate and reliable alternative.
