The Maui River Elite 6 Berth Motorhome AU we hired for 16 days June 2025 We hired a Maui Motorhome for 16 days ex Cairns dropping off in Brisbane. THL Group were ok to deal with and the vehicle was a Mercedes supposedly 1 year or less old. We began at 19956km on the clock and finished at 22403km, We used 6 June 2025 To Lucinda 20367km 57.46L 163.9c /L $94.18 10 June to Cape Hillsborough 20883km 20.07L 185.9c /litre $37.31 13 June Rockhampton 21360km 57.34L 179.9c /litre $103.15 16 June Hervey Bay 21797km 54.15L 182.9c /L $99.04 19 June 22403km END Total Litres 189.02 Total Kilometers 2036 Total Cost of Fuel $333.68 Last fill was Hervey Bay, so deduct the Km off from Hervey Bay to Brisbane if working out economy. We delivered it back with just over ¼ Tank as we had the Refuelling Pack option, the Maui Value Pack and the Cleaning Pack. We got a discount on One Way Hire by doing Cairns to Brisbane instead of Brisbane Cairns which was AU$195. And G'Day Camps membership cost AU$50 which gave us a discount of AU$385 Things we learnt. Turn on Gas for Hot water, it is NOT electric & takes about 20 min to heat. Stove top UP when trying to light oven & gas ON. They say Range Hood on but window open, roof hatch or door was enough for us on most of the cooking we did. DC outlets some worked some didn't lady at Brisbane asked if we had Media switch ON .... Nope, we didn't. Legs on outside shade rotate then hook onto side of Van. Air Con was very noisy. Wrap seat belt around the ladder or it goes flying. Wrap things in drawers like cups, plates etc to prevent rattles, anything you don't need can go in a locker underneath. There were about 7 or 8 Keys. Main Car, Camper Door, Rear outside Shower, toilet cassette, water inlet, and 3 locker doors. Remote for Car UNLOCK before starting car or it won't start. Grey Water meter was faulty the entire time and for the first 3 days the outlet tap was open anyway so that was fine except for oncoming motorists, I did wonder why a couple flashed their lights at me. Grab a cheap baby locks from Bunnings as the Fridge flew open a couple of times, and the cupboard doors came loose so a Phillips screwdriver was handy. Make sure you press the lock on all the cupboards and doors before travel as they DO come open.
