I set out on a thrifting journey across Melbourne, hoping to find some hidden gems… but let’s just say, things didn’t exactly go to plan. Thrifting in Melbourne thrift stores is always an adventure, but this weekend was a bit of a thrift fails experience. I visited a few op shop locations, including Salvos thrift and Red Cross thrift, hoping to score some amazing second-hand bargains, but the selection was pretty underwhelming. While I love budget shopping and the thrill of bargain hunting, sometimes you just don’t find what you’re looking for. That’s the reality of thrift store finds—some days, you strike gold, and other days, you walk away empty-handed. Still, I’ll be back out there soon, continuing my hunt for the best affordable fashion Melbourne has to offer! Some stores were friendly, some had great prices, but at the end of the day, well, let’s just say my thrift haul is looking pretty empty. Add on top of that the fact that I am in a new space and am finding that I am getting overwhelmed somewhat easily, and it is pretty easy to tell why this was a bust in terms of actually achieving my goals. Which WERE to start a small casual wardrobe now that I am located here.
