(Sorry it has been SO long since I last posted. I got proposed to and got married so I've been a way for a year or so. Anyway): This new instrumental of mine is of course a cover of "Worthless" from The Brave Little Toaster, written by Van Dyke Parks. Personally I think it's an underrated gem, even though I know so many people who have heard it love it. It's just a gem that's buried in the dirt a little bit. I am aware that the musical score doesn't always correspond with the correct octave. Moving the notes down (or up) an octave was the only way to capture footage of them, or else they were so high (or low) off the stave that they were off screen and couldn't be recorded. The song also changes key three times, but I made sure to change the key of the stave along with the music. Mainly to avoid dozens of random sharps, flats and naturals scattered all over. But if anyone is interested and can't tell by hearing, the key changes are as follows: E-minor, G-minor, A-minor. (The original key transition is: E-minor, G-minor, E-minor. But I thought that the A-minor gave it a more fitting feel at the end). To create the background footage I used an old Rollercoaster Tycoon game to build a kind of 'set'. I then I took the screen-recordings and added a comic filter along with a few colour adjustments to give it a more aged feel. Also, if anyone would like me to post a video of this without the notes, I can do. (So that you can see the background a bit better.)
