This is Crow Subsong

I posted a short the other day showing a crow making a clicking sound just like in this video. I had an amazing comment to that short, it just said “This is Subsong” I had never heard of it, so i googled it. #birds #birdsounds #wildlife #nature #friends #friendship Thank you so much Krakraichbinda, the clicking sound, it all makes sense now. I have always thought it was a greeting but a very special greeting. I’ve been feeding them for a few years now and been lucky to meet their young each year and I do feel they trust me. It’s the male that makes this sound the most, the female does make this sound but very rarely. They make this clicking sound from early spring into early summer then it stops, they have been making this sound for a few years now, but I didn’t think about when they make it until that comment and understood what Subsong is. Subsong…. With the help of google for info. Crow Subsong is a sound very different from their usual caws. Subsong is a softer mix of sounds, coos, rattles and clicks. Crows normally use Subsong during courtship, where they communicate softly with their mates. So basically, I’m one of their mates, sounds lovely to me, and it does feel nice when they do sit on the fence clicking.
