This is how I installed the sub fascia framing on the garage build on the overhangs, eaves, and gable ends. I used a 2x6 fascia for a good size to install gutters down the road. You can do the sub fascia by yourself if you balance the pieces and go in the middle to make things easier. You want to make sure it's nice and straight as it will affect your roof sheathing etc. I hope this helps.
