Believe it or not we need a lesson in Unganomics to understand what is going on with Wave Crash: Wave Crash is now 470 potency (not including photonic fury) for a total of ~380 DPS w/ Photonic Fury. With the majority of the damage still backloaded on the 2nd hit. Wave Crash 1 has a total potency of 183 and 45 frames. With Photonic Fury its DPS = 340!? So why is it so powerful? With the Techter Expansion Wave Crash cancel frames were adjusted. Specifically, canceling Wave Crash 1 results in ~7 frames removed, thus when canceling in to Wand Skip Arts it is effectively 38 frames for a total of ~409 DPS. 38 frames being the same frame count as N3. This is the secret to why you might notice Wave Crash putting in work that "on-paper" DPS would say otherwise. Additionally N3 and N$ were also boosted, with the second hit of N4 now producing a level 3 Photonic fury. Just N4 builds Element Pursuit similar to Wand Counter / Step Counter / Swift Smash. While the overall effect may not be significant when variance and crit play a role, it does allow you to use your other abilities more freely.
